EXTRA! EXTRA! - READ ALL ABOUT RESULTS OF MS SENIOR AMERICA PAGEANT 2014

Besides participating in the MS SENIOR AMERICA PAGEANT 2014, Diane DeSalvo Beebe, MS NEW JERSEY SENIOR AMERICA 2014, also serves as Secretary of the NATIONAL SENIOR ALUMNAE ASSOCIATION. The NSAA Annual Meeting was held Tuesday morning, October 28th at Resorts in Atlantic City.  In spite of a busy schedule of rehearsals, Diane was at hand to take a picture with her Jersey "Sisters".  From left to right are: Rebecca Orsatti/MSNJSA2010, Johanne Santori/MSNJSA2006 and MS NEW JERSEY SENIOR AMERICA STATE PAGEANT DIRECTOR, Diane DeSalvo Beebe/MSNJSA2014, Norma McGhie/MSNJSA1995, Josephine Araniti/MSNJSA2007, and Carole Lelli, Vice Presisent/NEW JERSEY CAMEO CLUB.

The curtain has fallen, the MS SENIOR AMERICA PAGEANT 2014 is over, and the 42 State Queens have returned home.  Those Queens who made the Top 10, are either satisfied with their placement, or wondering why they didn't go higher, or, win the title.  The rest are probably trying to cope with their disapointment at not having placed at all.  One thing is for sure - each Queen took home memories that will last her a lifetime.

The following statistics are: this year, there were 42 States represented in the Pageant, and included in that number were the US territories of Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.  The number of States with Pageants still stay the same, at 21, and the remainder are At-Large.  Among the Top 10, there were 7 At-Large, and in the QUEENS COURT, there were 2.

The Top 10 States, in no particular were:  Vermont/At- Large, Washington State/At- Large, Massachusetts/At- Large, Oregon/At- Large, Virginia, Rhode Island/At- Large, Michigan, Georgia/At-Large, Alabama, Kentucky/At-Large.  Ms Kentucky returned this year to compete again, while the other At-Large State Queens were new.

There were several events during Pageant Week for members to enjoy.  One event, in particular, that deserves particular mention was the WELCOME TO ATLANTIC SHOW, which was held on Tuesday evening in the Superstar Theater at 7:00 PM.  The show was emceed by Helen McCarney/MSSA2005, who was funny, entertaining and kept the two and a half hour show running smoothly.  The variety show included 35 acts, of solo and group performances.  Of particular mention, was the QUEENS CHOIR, under the direction of Josephine Araniti/MSNJSA2007.  This year, the group paid tribute to Diana Ross and The Supremes, with a 3 song medley,  "With Love From Motown".
