FAREWELL TO THE QUEEN!

Diane De Salvo Beebe, MS NEW JERSEY SENIOR AMERICA 2014

Every year since 1971, women who have entered the "Age of Elegance", have participated in the MS NEW JERSEY SENIOR AMERICA PAGEANT, held in Atlantic City, in hopes of winning the title.  Next week, the annual rite of passage for women 60 and over, will take place on Wednesday, June 3rd, at Harrahs Resort Hotel and Casino, in the Concert Venue Theater at 1:00 PM.  It is an exciting time for the contestants, but bittersweet for the current QUEEN, Diane De Salvo Beebe.
During the year of her reign,  Diane has touched the lives of so many older Americans in her travels across the Garden State, leaving them entertained, and happier than before.  Diane used her title to give hope and encouragement to everyone she met, through personal appearances, and performances with the NEW JERSEY CAMEO CLUB.  Below is but a brief recap of her year:
Diane met at Town Hall to accept an award from the Mayor.

Here she is accepting another plaque from the Board of Chosen Freeholders.  She also received letters of recognition from State and U.S. Legislators, and Governor Christie.

Spectators lined the boardwalk for Atlantic City's annual Armed Forces Parade last August.  The float was adorned with the gracious ladies from the NEW JERSEY CAMEO CLUB, and together with Diane, entertained the crowd with a mini-concert will driving down the boardwalk.  Before the start of the parade, an Army band musician introduced himself and asked to take a photo with Diane.
A NEW JERSEY CAMEO CLUB Showcase, at "the most wonderful time of the year".  The Holiday Show at Silver Ridge last December, was great fun, filled with good cheer and song.  After the show, people from the audience requested  a photo-op of QUEEN Diane and the "sisters".
Diane currently serves as Secretary of the NATIONAL SENIOR ALUMNAE ASSOCIATION, whose job it is to keep the "sisterhood" across the country informed of all news and events of the organization.
Next week, when she takes the stage as QUEEN for the last time, Diane can rest in the knowledge that, she leaves behind, her legacy of talent, faithfulness, service and generosity.  Kudos to, Diane, for a job well done!

FYI:  Tickets are $12.00 and can be purchased at the door.  Box Office opens at 12 Noon, day of the Pageant.
