NEW JERSEY CAMEO CLUB 4TH QUARTERLY MEETING

A daunting agenda was laid out before the members of the NEW JERSEY CAMEO CLUB at Wednesday's meeting.  However, under the able leadership of the club's President, Lyn Gibson/MSNJSA2000, the meeting went smoothly and all items were covered.  She encouraged lively discourse and differences of opinion from the members, and allowed for workable criticisms to be entered into the minutes.

Sherri McGhie, MS NEW JERSEY SENIOR AMERICA 2015, thanked the membership for their support and encouragement as she prepares for the MS SENIOR AMERICA 2015 National Pageant later this month.  She said that she is ready and confident, and pledges to do her best to represent the State of New Jersey, and to win the national title.  Here beautiful smile is captured in this photo as she cuts the cake made especially for her, to wish her good luck.

Election of members of the Board of the NEW JERSEY CAMEO CLUB takes place every two years.  Members of the current board have the right to run for a second term, or to change positions on the Board.  All seats, except for president were unopposed.  The 2 candidates for president were: Diane Beebe/MSNJSA2014, and Carole Lelli/Vice President, NEW JERSEY CAMEO CLUB.  Pictured above are the new board members who will serve for the next 2 years; from left to right are: Geri Rizzo/Secretary, Terry Meade/Vice President, Carole Lelli/President, Rebecca Orsatti, MSNJSA2010/Treasurer(second term), and Johanne Santori, MSNJSA2006/Administrator and MSNJSA State Pageant Director.

President Gibson thanked the outgoing members of the Board for their excellent work in conducting the business of the Club during the past two years.  She welcomed the new members, and expressed her confidence that they will do the same.  She spoke on behalf of herself and those who were leaving, saying that it was an honor and a privilege to serve the membership.  Although she had to step down for health reasons, and will be moving to Belmawr, she is still a member, and intends to be around for a long time.  In the photo from left to right are:  Carole Lelli/former Vice President; Leah Whelan, MSNJSA2011/Secretary; Lyn Gibson, MSNJSA2000/President; Rebecca Orsatti, MSNJSA2010, Treasurer; Johanne Santori, MSNJSA2006/Administrator & MSNJSA State Pageant Director.

There were 33 members in attendance, who represented a majority, that voted.  This year, members who could not attend the meeting, were invited to vote by mailing in their absentee ballots.

The following are some of the items on the agenda that were covered:
Renee Tompkins, NJCC Showcase Coordinator, reported that there were 27 showcases throughout the State, during 2015, totalling $4,600.00.  They have begun booking shows for 2016, and so far, there are already 10 dates.  President Gibson commented that there is a need for more variety in the shows, and thus far, there is a predominence of singers.  A discussion followed regarding the process of selecting or not selecting performers.  Josephine Araniti/MSNJSA2007, suggested that a positive line of communication be established with both President and Showcase Coordinator.  Any woman wishing to perform needs to call and ask to be placed on the active roster.  Vice versa is true if she needs to take time off for any reason.
Director Santori, has already begun looking for contestants for next year's Pageant.  Josephine Araniti passed out contestant posters to the members, and asked that they be posted in public places.  Jo Ann Gordon announced the date of the annual Christmas Party, which will be held ond Thursday, December 3rd, and passed out forms for the dinner choices.  Thanks to Delores Puzio and committee for arranging a delicious luncheon.
