SING "AULD LANG SYNE" TO 2023!

The year is quickly coming to a close, and the fabulous ladies of the NEW JERSEY CAMEO CLUB did their best to create happy memories for all they touched.  They continued to give Showcases around the State, in spite of the dreaded COVID virus which still pervades our world.   The following are some event highlights between October through December

A special guest attended the October Showcase at the Laurita Winery, King Micheal as he is affectionately named, who was included in this photo op.

The MS SENIOR AMERICA PAGEANT 2023 was special this year, because QUEEN Ferlie Almonte came in 4th runner up! Everyone cheered her success at the Ball.

There was another activity in October, apart from performing that some members participated in.

NEW JERSEY CAMEO CLUB members were asked to be pourers at Laurita Winery's OctoberFest.  QUEEN Ferlie volunteered along with Board members Terry, Carolyn, Denise and JoAnn.  Even though it rained that day, many patrons attended the outdoor event. Tables were set up under a huge tent, and the ladies served beer and wine, and food throughout the day.

Ferlie Almonte, MS NEW JERSEY SENIOR AMERICA 2023, has been busy during this last quarter, with personal appearances and parades. The latest one was earlier this month in Moorestown, where she and Diane DeLuca/MSNJSA'16 participated in.

Diane DeLuca who is also the chairlady of the Social Committee arranged for a day trip to the Surflight Theater, earlier this month to see "A Christmas Story, The Musical."  The ladies ate lunch at Buckaloo's Restaurant beforehand.

Thanks to JoAnn Gordon, the annual Christmas Party, at the Clarion Hotel was another fun evening. The food was tasty, and the libations made for an evening of merriment. The raffle table was full of beautful and practical gifts for bidding. Members danced the night away to the music of Steve and Debbie Berger.

Santa and Mrs. Claus joined the ladies in this pho op.

Also that evening, the NEW JERSEY CAMEO CLUB honored two ladies for their outstanding contributions over the years.

Norma McGhie, MSNJSA'95 and HONORARY MSA, was the guest of honor.  At 100 years young, she is not only the oldest member in the NEW JERSEY CAMEO CLUB, but one of the oldest members nationwide.

The Board of Directors of MS SENIOR AMERICA, INC awarded Jeri Georger  the NEW JERSEY CAMEO CLUB'S "Sister of the Year, 2023." trophy, which read: "in grateful recognition and appreciation of your dedication, contribution, enthusiasm and support for our organization."

Sadly to say, 2023 is ending on a sad note, due to the loss of two NEW JERSEY CAMEO CLUB sisters:
Patricia Franz and Delores Puzio/MSDEL'08. Pat, a resident of Mercerville, was a contestant during the late 1990's and attended the CLUB'S meetings and events.

Delores Puzio/MS DELAWARE 2008, a long time resident of Toms River, entered the MS NEW JERSEY SENIOR AMERICA PAGEANT in the latter 90's, and then joined the NEW JERSEY CAMEO CLUB. In the years that followed, she served as the CLUB's President, and Showcase Director. A dancer, she was affectionately known as the "the energizer bunny."  She died June 17, 2023 at the age of 93. She never failed to do her best; she worked hard for this organization she so loved.

So, as we sing or say  "auld lang syne" to the old year, let us welcome in the new, with confidence and optimisim, with the hope that our Creator knows whats best for mankind, and rest assured that He has a better future planned for us all. Amen.
