SHERRI MCGHIE - PART OF MS SENIOR AMERICA PAGEANT 2015 QUEENS COURT

Soon after her arrival at Resorts Hotel & Casino, Sherri McGhie, MS NEW JERSEY SENIOR AMERICA 2015, a superstar in her own right, posed under an appropriate sign that described this hopeful QUEEN.  She posed proudly, and sported a wide smile, in the lobby of the Superstar Theater.  Johanne Santori/MSNJSA 2006 and Administrator & State Pageant Director, reported earlier in the week, "Sherri looked great and spoke with confidence as she introduced herself at the Orientation Dinner".

The MS SENIOR AMERICA PAGEANT 2015 was held during the week of October 18 through 22.  Thirty eight State QUEENS from across the "fruited plains", participated in the annual Pageant in Atlantic City.  Among them, was New Jersey's favorite, Sherri McGhie, a resident of Manchester.

The 4 Catagories the contestants were judged are: Evening Gown, Philosophy of Life, Talent and Private Interview with the Judges.  Sherri looked stunning, modelling a strapeless white sequined gown that fanned out at thigh length to the floor.  She glided effortlessly across the stage, and with every turn and pose, she projected her smiling countenance in the judges' direction.  During the 3 days of the Pageant, QUEEN Sherri became an audience favorite.  Her Philosphy of Life was cheerful, animated and uplifting.  For the Talent portion, she sang "When Your Good To Mama", from the Broadway hit musical, Chicago.  The audience reacted to her sexy and spicy rendition with generous applause.

At the Final Pageant, the field was narrowed down to the top 10.  The New Jersey faction cheered frantically when QUEEN Sherri's name was called.  The slate was wiped clean, and the 10 QUEENS  competed all over again.  Tensions were high in the theater, as each State from the Top 10 attempted to shout louder than the other, waving signs of support.  In each catagory, QUEEN Sherri continued to perform with the same accuracy and professionalism as she did in the previous 2 Prelinimaries.  The judges awarded her 4th Runner-Up, which secured her a place in the coveted QUEENS COURT.  This year, the Pageant was filmed by the BBC, and will soon be aired in the United Kingdom and the United States.  There was a special award given by a European sponsor, called the MS Transatlantic Talent Award, and  QUEEN Sherri was a recipient.  The 2015 QUEENS COURT are:  4th Runner-Up Sherri McGhie/MSNJSA; 3rd Runner-Up Lauren Scott Monahan/MSTNSA; 2nd Runner-Up Debbi Miller/MSNMSA; 1st Runner-Up Carol Thomas/MSWISA; and QUEEN Dr. Barbara Mauldin/MSMS2015.

During Pageant week, members of the MS SENIOR AMERICA PAGEANT organization from across the country come together not only to support their State QUEENS, but also to participate in the weeklong events.  The Welcome To Atlantic City Show was held on the Tuesday evening in the Superstar Theater at 7:00 PM.  Several  Jersey Girls participated in the 3 hour long variey show.  The QUEENS CHOIR, under the direction of  Josephine Araniti/MSNJSA2007, sang a 3 song medley called, Gershwin For Girls.

Other Jersey girls awaiting their turn in the show, posed together for the papparazzi.  In the front row are: Johanne Santori/'06, Becky Orsatti/'10, Jo Ann Gordon/'08, and Terry Meade.  In the second row are: Josephine Araniti/'07, Pauline Petto, Barbi Jo Crema, and Rose Majofsky.

Here are the Jersey Star Dancers in action.  The members were joined by Diane Beebe/'14,  third on the right.

The dinner dance, a fun filled event, was held on Wednesday evening.  After dinner, members danced the night away.  In this photo, Dr. Mott joined the ladies, their spouses and significant others.

There were many photo ops that evening.  QUEEN Sherri McGhie/MSNJSA2015, is flanked by her sisters of the NEW JERSEY CAMEO CLUB.

Jersey girls just love to have fun, and they were found each night at Bar 1.  From right to left are: Sherri McGhie/'15, Renee Tompkins/NJCC Showcase Coordinator, Dorcas Preston/CA'01, Johanne Santori/'06, Josephine Araniti/'07, Terry Meade/NJCC-VP elect, Geri Rizzo/NJCC-Secretary elect, and Becky Orsatti/'10.

Kudos to QUEEN Sherri for representing the GARDEN STATE with beauty, grace, and excellence.  She is a treasure to her NEW JERSEY CAMEO CLUB sisters, who look forward to supporting her as she continues her reign during the coming year.
